One month of PUBG Ban, PUBG ban happened on 2nd September in India. The question doing the rounds in Indian Esports circles is, is it the time for the PUBG India promoters to make the Indian version of PUBG Mobile which complies will all norms and protocols set by the Indian government. The promoters of PUBG along with the local Esports partners have previously navigated its ways around local laws by creating territory specific version of the game.

There are already 4 versions of the game around the world excluding the global version. Each version is tailored to fit around the laws in that particular country.

Will the same happen for India ?

Conglomerates like Blue hole are familiar with navigating international laws constantly. Blue hole is PUBG Corporations Parent company that has collaborated with Tencent to bring, operate the Global version of PUBG Mobile in India. Post PUBG ban in India PUBG Corporation broke ties with Tencent.

But still the Indian government is in no mood to unban the game in the country. This is the reason, now the rumors are doing rounds that the promoters of PUBG are deliberating India version of PUBG Mobile.

Nothing is official as such but the NEW & EXCLUSIVE version of PUBG catering just to the Indian market can be the new way-forward for the PUBG corporation.

For example in Belgium and Netherlands, videogame loot boxes are illegal hence the game has been customized by PUBG Corporation who agreed to disable key purchases and key usage as per government regulations.

Existing PUBG Versions all around the GLOBE

PUBG has previously navigated its ways around laws like this before, there are already 4 versions of the game around the world excluding the global version. Each version is tailored to fit around laws in that particular country, lets take a look at the different versions of PUBG and how they adapt to the country they are in:

Chinese Version of PUBG
The Chinese government is very strict when it comes to in-game violence and gore. The Chinese version of PUBG mobile was overhauled in 2019 with the name being changed to “Game For Peace.”This is a remarkable achievement considering the fact that the violence and gore are an integral part of the game. There are not many distinctions in the in-game elements when compared to the global version

Korean Version of PUBG
The Korean version is published by PUBG Corporation exclusively and made explicitly for players from Korea and Japan. It is identical to the global version in terms of gameplay mechanics. The Korean version features a plethora of skins and outfits that can be obtained by opening crates using Donkatsu Medals, a special in-game currency. The focus on avatar looks is prioritized in this version. It’s available for download globally but connects to only the Korean servers, so you will have high ping playing it from any other region.
