In the case of staff nurse and sister recruitment in state hospitals, the Public Service Commission and the state government have sought a response on the petition against not considering the selection of those who get more marks than the successful candidates. The High Court has not given interim relief at present.

Prayagraj, Legal CorrespondentThe Allahabad High Court has sought a response from the Public Service Commission and the State Government on the petition against the selection of those who get more marks than the successful candidates in the staff nurse and sister recruitment case in the state hospitals. The High Court has not yet granted interim relief and said that the result declared will depend on the decision of the petition.

 

The hearing of this petition will take place on April 19. Justice Manju Rani Chauhan has given this order on the petition of Priti Patel and others. Advocates Ajay Tripathi and Sunil Kumar Shukla and advocate BKS Raghuvanshi of the commission presented their side on the petition.

It may be noted that the result was declared on 03 October 2021 and the answer key was uploaded on the website on 28 March 2022. Objection not sought. Some candidates were not included in the selection despite getting more marks than the given marks. Some got more marks than selected. Still not included in the selection. Experience qualifying marks not given. Experience qualification on what basis was accepted or rejected has not been disclosed. The petitioner says that there are procedural lapses. Online application was given. In which there was a lack of procedural. The counsel for the commission sought 10 days' time.

Advocate Tripathi told the court that the advertisement for Staff Nurse Sister Grade 2 recruitment examination was issued in 2021. Its result was declared on October 3, 2021. It has been said that despite the examination being objective, the objections of the petitioners on the answer key issued by the commission were not heard and the result was declared. Not only this, the candidates who had attached their experience certificates. He was not given even the 15 marks he got on it. The court had sought information from the Public Service Commission in this matter, on which the commission said that the certificate is being reviewed again. The court has fixed April 26 for next hearing, directing the matter to be listed along with other petitions.

 

The Staff Nurse/Sister Grade-2 (Male and Female) was conducted by the UPPSC on behalf of the department of medical education and training, medical and health services and King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. For this, the commission had accepted online applications from eligible candidates against 4,743 vacant posts till August 16, 2021. For this, a total of 1,02,041 candidates had applied.

Within a month-and-a-half, the commission had conducted the recruitment examination in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur and Meerut on October 3, 2021 in which 83,564 candidates had appeared.

“Around 50 males and 1,627 females have been selected against 2,582 posts (50 males and 2,532 females) of medical and health services department, 90 males and 623 females against 1,235 posts (90 males and 1,145 females) of medical education and training department while against 926 posts (46 males and 880 females) of King George’s Medical University, 46 males and 578 female candidates have been declared selected,” informed UPPSC secretary Jagdish.

Against a total of 4,743 posts, 3,014 candidates have been selected while 1,729 posts remain vacant due to non-availability of qualified candidates, he added.
