What are the Characteristics of a Professional Research Paper?

Whichever subject you're interested in, during your academic career, you will most probably be asked to write a research paper. For example, in an art class, a student could write a research paper on the work of an artist. Similarly, a nursing student may write a research paper on current findings in cognitive development.

It will, at first, be daunting to write a research paper. After all, it takes time, energy, and organization to study and write a professional custom term paper. However, it can also be an exceptional opportunity to explore a topic of particular interest to you to write a research article.Notably, this learning process— researching— allows you to develop experience on a subject of your choice, and the writing process helps you to recall and to understand more thoroughly what you have learned.

There is no specific way or style to write an educational paper. The writing style and layout of articles in various fields of education varies significantly, aside from the text. However, a few other parts are apparent to most manuscripts, for example:

Title of Research Paper

The title summarizes your study's main ideas. A successful title includes the least amount of terms available that accurately explain the research paper material and/or intent. Therefore, your topic must be narrow and sufficiently focused on being exciting but wide enough to obtain sufficient information. Make sure you know what your research paper should look like before you select your topic.

An abstract is required for every research paper. The abstract generally provides a broad overview of the research paper in 100 to 300 words and is never more than just a paragraph. It describes the essence and the paper's central theme. It includes the research question(s), its importance, its methodology, and its main findings. References are not cited in the abstract. It is worth mentioning that this is the first part of the paper read by the audience. Therefore, it shall have strong content, the right style, and an overall aesthetic appeal to it.

The main research question and statement of the thesis are defined in a good introduction. It provides answers to, what do you research, specifically, and why is it important? What's the original? Will it bridge another gap in studies?. It is to note that the introduction never provides an elongated rationale to your research topic.

Literature review

In general, this constitutes significant part of the research paper. This part is where the writer endorses and builds the argument. It comprises most of the citations and assessments of previously published material. This section should concentrate on the rational development of the thesis with clear reasoning and solid argument.

The analysis of the literature shows what other scholars have written about your topic. Your academic paper should aim at providing an argument or examination of what is known about the subject and how it was acquired. Once you create the broad and specific context of existing knowledge, you can build on the research of others.

A robust research method is crucial to depict a good picture of your research paper. Whatever is the merit of your introduction or literature analysis, the worth of your research relies heavily on your research methodology.

Discuss the methods for analysis. Have you used qualitative or quantitative methods of research? Have you managed a questionnaire or interview people? Any field research carried out? Where have you collected data? Have you seen other collections or archives? And so on.

The analysis section always follows the methodology section. The analysis segment explains what has been achieved with the results. It is necessary to know what the research consists of, which does not imply that data is required to compose the research portion.

The results section will aim at narrating the findings without analyzing or assessing them, and also provide direction to the research paper's conclusion portion. Just the relevant observations should be used, too much detail shall be omitted, and the exact significance of the context shall be reported in this section.

After having spent considerable time and energy, bringing the main elements of the paper together and arguing about them, the conclusion brings them together and emphasizes what all of them mean. The reader is informed and satisfied with a stimulating and informative conclusion. A finding that makes sense after you read the remainder of the article separately should be celebrated.
