How to become a doctor of medicine?


For MBBS in India, you must meet the eligibility criteria. If you belong to the general category, you must secure at least 50% aggregate in physics, chemistry, and biology. Whereas, if you belong to the reserved category, it is 40%.



To study MBBS in India, you must apply for the NEET exam through application forms. Earlier for admission to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), separate entrance exams were conducted across the country. But NEET 2020 has replaced the two. If you want to study in AIIMS or JIPMER or any other medical college, you must qualify NEET only.

The average fee for government medical colleges: If you wish to study MBBS at low cost, government medical colleges are the key. The fee structure is affordable with an excellent education. It eases the parents from financial aid. But to get admission in the cream layer colleges demands good fortune and dedication that is rare. Moreover, you can enjoy some relaxation in the fee as well if you belong to the reserved category
The average fee for private and central deemed universities: Since private and central deemed universities offer luxurious facilities, they also demand a higher fee structure. In private medical colleges, the fee structure is high. Whereas, in centrally deemed universities, it is higher. Along with this, private institutions expect a huge capitation fee for admission. 
High competition: There are approx. 525+ medical colleges in India that have approx. 70,000 seats. With almost at least 10 lakhs students appear for the entrance examination, most of the students can’t get their dreams fulfilled. Only 5% of the students get the opportunity to become a doctor of medicine. It proves that the competition to become a doctor is high.
Direct MBBS admission: As of now, there is no direct MBBS admission for MBBS in India. To become a doctor of medicine, you must clear 12th from science medical stream that is the minimum eligibility criteria. Then, you must appear for the NEET entrance examination
